The Japanese Billionaire will have plenty of time to prepare as the launch will not take place until 2023. Seems far away but it is actually a ver short time away as we are getting ready to get into 2019 in just a few months. “We have to set some kind of date [to work to],” Musk said to those in attendance. “If everything goes 100 percent right, then this is the date. But there are many uncertainties.”

“Why do I want to go to the moon,” Yusaku Maezawa teased. “This is very meaningful. I thought long and hard about this, and at the same time I thought about how I can give back to the world.” As part of a project called Dear Moon, Maezawa will invite (and pay for) a group of six to eight artists of varying backgrounds and specialties to accompany him to the moon.
