Resident Evil TV Series - Geek Impulse

A Resident Evil TV Series is on its way

At Geek Impulse we can confirm that Netflix is developing a show based on the popular horror video game and film franchise.

The first to report this was Deadline, the popular streaming service Netflix is currently searching for a showrunner to write the script. According to the report, the script will “explore the dark inner workings of the Umbrella Corporation and the new world order caused by the outbreak of the T-virus.” Netflix themselves have yet to comment and as far as we know that means the said project is in its early stages of development. We will keep you posted on the premiere date and last info as they become available.

The Resident Evil game has always been a popular series. The Resident Evil movie franchise kicked off in 2002. The films star Milla Jovovich as the lead and it generated a total of five sequels. Collectively, it is the highest grossing film series based on a video game. Tomb Raider may be a close second. A film reboot with a new cast is also in the works with 47 Meters Down director Johannes Roberts.
