When you ask the average person who says they love anime, what have they watched, the answer is almost always Naruto. The franchises creator Masashi Kishimoto may have finished the series years ago, the franchise does continue with Boruto. Japan however is increasingly pushing the limits of adapting anime such as Naruto into Live-Action. We recently shared the trailer for the Live-Action Bleach coming in the summer.

Questions will ultimately arrive after watch the trailer above. Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha are the stars of this reel, and each of the ninjas show off their dramatic flair. Minosuke Bandou is playing Naruto while Hayato Nakamura takes care of Sasuke. The pair are vetted actors in the Kabuki industry, and they will be joined by other all-star talent. Ichikawa Ennosuke and Ainosuke Kataoka will double-up as Madara Uchiha for the play’s run.

For those unfamiliar with Kabuki here is a little rundown:

A traditional Japanese popular drama with singing and dancing performed in a highly stylized manner. A rich blend of music, dance, mime, and spectacular staging and costuming, it has been a major theatrical form in Japan for almost four centuries. The term kabuki originally suggested the unorthodox and shocking character of this art form. In modern Japanese, the word is written with three characters: ka, signifying “song”; bu, “dance”; and ki, “skill.”

The directer recently sat down with Collider and this is what he had to say:

“You know Kishimoto, who created the original series, he’s just a genius. So many Hollywood adaptations of really popular manga series just don’t get it right, and for me what was really important was that if I was gonna do Naruto, I wanted to actually work with Kishimoto and get a script to a stage where he would look at it and be excited about realizing it. Because no one knows the world better than the person who created it.”

What do you think about another Live-Action coming to life? Do you like this increasing trend or do you want to see this kind of stuff end? Let us discuss in the comment below.
