A few days after the official announcement of Star Wars: Squadrons, EA released the first trailer and revealed a little more about what to expect from its next Star Wars title. As anticipated, the title EA Motive is based around first-person dog-fighting.
It’s coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC (Origin, Epic Game Store and Steam). This will support virtual reality play on PC and PS4, with complete cross-play between all three platforms. EA showcased their first cross-platform gaming for the last week with Need for Speed Fire.
GET IN THE COCKPIT – The cockpit is your home. Use its dashboards to your advantage and – with just a thin hull of metal and glass between you and the perils of space – feel the intensity of combat from a first-person perspective. Take off in thrilling multiplayer modes and a unique single-player Star Wars story, which covers a key campaign near the conclusion of the Galactic Civil War. Immerse yourself in the pilot’s seat completely with the option to play the entirety of Star Wars: Squadrons in Virtual Reality on PlayStation 4 and PC.

Squadrons will be released on October 2nd and will cost $39.99. If you are an EA Access or Origin Access Basic user, you will be able to play 10 hours of Squadrons at launch and save 10% off the retail price if you buy it. Origin Access Premier subscribers will have complete access to the PC title. In the meantime, PS4 players can claim some bonus cosmetics if they pre-order.
