The Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer is finally with us. Peter Parker is quick to let everyone know that he will not be a “friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.” We also get something that has not been seen in the history of the franchise films. That is Peter Parker out of the country. In the trailer, we get our first look at Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio.

It would seem that we will be getting a lot of Peter and MJ for this film. We are ok with this. It will be interesting to see if they rush the relationship or take their time with it. Having them getting that deeper connection though is a nice take for this installment.

In the Ultimate Spider-Man comics, Nick Fury kept tabs on Spider-Man. Fury explained to Peter that he will be “drafted” into SHIELD when he turned 18. So seeing Nick Fury hijack Peter’s vacation was somewhat predictable.

The red and black Spider-Man design is a popular suit from the early ‘90s. The web wings ( pictured above ) were an edition created by Steve Ditko in his original costume design. Steve was also one of the creators behind Doctor Strange.

Here are some other quick takes on what we saw:

  • We see bully Flash Thompson Idolizing Spider-Man
  • We see Hydro-Man or Sand-Man or Both. Kind of hard to tell
  • Quentin Beck ( Mysterio ) is a former movie special effects wizard, and here he is posing as a superhero.
  • We are getting a version of Spidey’s stealth suit

Spider-Man: Far From Home hits the big screen on July 5th. We hope this breakdown got you even more pumped and informed about the new film coming out. We look forward to hearing from you in the comments.
