Revue Starlight Anime Geek Impulse

The staff and cast information for the two upcoming Revue Starlight Anime theatrical films have not yet been revealed.

The “Revue Starlight 3rd StarLive ‘Starry Diamond’ concert announced with a teaser promotional video on Sunday that production on two Revue Starlight anime films has been green-lit. There will be a brand-new anime film, and a separate “reproduction” compilation film will open early summer 2020.

Sentai Filmworks publishes Revue Starlight in the United States, and the series is available via streaming on HIDIVE and VRV. The story of Revue Starlight is described as follows:

Childhood friends Karen and Hikari made a promise that, together, they would one day become the next theatrical stars. Real life got in the way of their childhood dream when Hikari moved away, but Karen never forgot her promise. Years later, the two friends finally have their chance when they’re invited to a mysterious audition. However, the two are not the only ones who have trained for this moment, and they must now compete with others whom all share the same dream of performing on stage.

Bushiroad announced the franchise in April 2017 with a stage musical and television anime project. The musical Shōjo☆Kageki Revue Starlight The LIVE, billed as a “2.5 dimension musical and live concert,” ran in Tokyo in September 2017. The 12-episode television anime series premiered on July 12, 2018. Sentai Filmworks streamed the series on HIDIVE with English subtitles and an English dub. The franchise is also inspiring a new mini anime titled Shōjo☆Konto All Starlight (Girl Comedy Skit All Starlight). The franchise also includes the Butai Shōjo☆Kageki Revue Starlight ―The LIVE― SHOW MUST GO ON and Yonkoma Starlight manga.

Ateam’s Revue Starlight Re LIVE smartphone game launched worldwide in April. A third stage musical production will launch in summer 2020.
