Singer and track composer Bappi Lahiri’s surprising demise has left the rustic in surprise. The mythical musician — who has sung songs and composed track predominantly within the Hindi and Bengali movie industries — used to be ill for some time. Talking with indianexpress.com, artist Varun Tandon described Lahiri as a “golden singer with a golden voice”. “The fabric that I’ve used on this paintings is golden movie. I sourced it from a manufacturing facility and made the portrait. It took me 4 hours to finish it,” he stated.
The paintings has been made on a 22×28 inch canvas.
The artist, a fan, stated he recollects Lahiri’s track as person who used to be distinctive. “Even his sartorial sense used to be quirky. However I in reality preferred his persona probably the most, which is why I used a subject material that I imagine fits him.”
