Pikachu Outbreak 2019 is Coming to Yokohama, Japan!

YOKOHAMA – – Every year in Yokohama, yellow Pikachu’s ascend upon the city that is near Tokyo. This event lasts about a week and then disappears in a blink of an eye. This will be what’s happily called Pikachu Outbreak 2019.

Pokémon fanatics from all over the world come to Yokohama during the outbreak. Everyone wants to take those selfies and participate in the many festivities during the week. This year more than 2000 Pikachu will be unleashed upon the city to accommodate the influx of tourists. This year the organizers want to ensure they make the most of the nightlife as well. Yokohama has some of the most amazing night scenery. Events will take place in the evening from 7 pm to 9 pm to capture the night essence.

If you saw last years event you know what to expect. There will be light performances to include costumes equipped with LED’s including flags which should be a technological art masterpiece to captivate the crowds. The red brick buildings will be the place of hosting multiple huge water shows with dancing Pikachu’s and water fountains. The largest of the performances, however, will take place in Rinkai park with over 50 Pokémon participating. The Outbreak will go on from 6th August to 12th and more information will be announced closer to the time. Tons of Pikachu’s will be overflowing the streets, parks, and shopping centers of the bayside Minato Mirai district in the city of Yokohama, which is just half an hour south of Tokyo by train.
