Netflix’s The Magic Order is misleading in a good way. This release is why we created the genre of Netflix Sorcery. The look of it is a mixture of images sound affects along with animation. You will not find The Magic Order on any of the Neflix apps.
The Magic Order is a comic written by the Mark Millar. His works include Kick-Ass, Wolverine: Old Man Logan, Ultimate X-Men. Illustrations are by Olivier Coipel, known for such works as X-Men, Avengers and Thor. You will be able to find the comic at your local comic book location or comics app. The reason for this seemingly unexpected focus comes from 2017. Streaming giant Netflix acquired Millar’s comics publishing company, Millarworld. Through Millarworld, Millar has published Kick-Ass, Wanted and Kingsman, all original comics series distributed by other larger publishers and adapted for feature films. In February 2018, Netflix and Millarworld announced that The Magic Order would be the companies’ first collaboration.
“Magic meets the mob,” is how Netflix’s announcement described the six-issue comic book miniseries. “Five families of magicians sworn to protect our world for generations must battle an enemy who’s picking them off one by one. By day they live among us as our neighbors, friends and co-workers, but by night they are the sorcerers, magicians and wizards that protect us from the forces of darkness.”
