Mike Shinoda Teases Animated “World’s On Fire” Video
During the Crunchyroll industry panel at Anime Expo on July 6th, Mike Shinoda of LINKIN PARK gave the audience a preview of his new “World’s On Fire” music video. Mike was also joined on stage with Adam Sheehan who is the director for events, along with Victoria Holden who is the creative producer and brand manager at Crunchyroll. While all three were on stage they engaged in dialogue about the history of anime in music videos. They touched on LINKIN PARK’s song “In The End,” this is significant because fans have used in anime videos online.
“My music and anime have had a long history crossing paths, from the fan videos edited over Linkin Park’s music to our original video for ‘Breaking The Habit.’ This new video for ‘World’s On Fire’ is a lighthearted video that focuses on a female protagonist as she learns to control her unique power,” said Mike Shinoda. The video will premiere later this summer. It will be from his solo album which is called “Post Traumatic.”The album was released last year. According to Mike, some of the songs on the album was inspired by the unfortunate death of his friend and bandmate Chester Bennington. Chester was found dead in his Los Angeles-area home on July 20, 2017, from suicide.
The debut full-length solo release for the Linkin Park co-founder features guest appearances from Blackbear, K.Flay, Chino Moreno and Machine Gun Kelly.
