Michael Keaton Returning to play Batman. The actor is known for declaring “I’m Batman.” As mentioned for the first time by The Wrap, Keaton is in talks to play Bruce Wayne in Warner Bros’ upcoming film The Flash, with Ezra Miller playing his role in the Justice League.
First, DC fans won their war to release Zack Snyder’s Justice League to HBO Max in 2021. Then, Warner Brothers announced an exciting DC FanDome event in August. Now, the exclusive news of the forthcoming film is going to get the biggest DC Comics fans very excited: Michael Keaton is going to play Batman in the Flashpoint movie. So with all that is going on, if done right, it will finally be DC’s turn to shine in film with comic fandom.
It’s an intriguing move, as there’s a new Batman in upcoming DC movies, with Robert Pattinson taking over the role of Matt Reeves’ The Batman, which is expected in October 2021. The Flashpoint movie is obviously going to bind the DC comic multiverse together, with Batman and Batman Returns star Michael Keaton Returning to taking over his role as the Caped Crusader.
Keaton first played the part of director Tim Burton ‘s groundbreaking 1989 film Batman, as well as his less successful 1992 sequel, Batman Returns. Keaton was replaced by Val Kilmer for the role in Joel Schumacher ‘s 1995 film Batman Forever (Schumacher died on Monday at the age of 80). Keaton also took a dive into the Marvel universe, voicing the heavy in the 2017 Spider-Man : Homecoming. What’s really interesting is the fact that if he is in talks to play Batman in Flashpoint, he is more than likely going to play Thomas Wayne as Batman. In the Flashpoint comics, Bruce Wayne is shot and killed, and his parents lived. Thomas Wayne would seek his revenge as a Batman that isn’t afraid of killing. He would fit the role due to his age as Thomas Wayne.
