Westeros Will Be United For a Reunion
Rumors have been going around for months now and intensified once the show wrapped filming for the final season. According to Entertainment Weekly:
A special was shot in Belfast earlier this year with the cast of GoT — including actors who have long since departed the show such as Sean Bean. Conan O’Brien served as host.
The Game of Thrones Reunion Special will not be airing on HBO however. The reunion is said to be featured exclusively on a new Game of Thrones complete series home video box set that will package together seasons 1-8 for the first time. Once the final season airs, the box set will be released. So we anticipate summer of 2019. It is not entirely clear what cast was there.
Williams’ on-screen sister, Sophie Turner, teased that, like much of the series, the final season will leave fans with conflicting feelings. “Who knows if it will be satisfying for the fans. I think a lot of fans will be disappointed and a lot of fans will be over the moon, I think,” Turner shared with IGN. “I think it will be really interesting to see people’s reactions, but for me reading the script it was just like heartbreaking to read at the very final page of the script it just says, ‘End of Game of Thrones’. That was really emotional.”
We were hoping that we would get to view it on HBO. This could happen in the future. We will keep you updated as things develop. Have you caught up with all the episodes? What are your thoughts about this only being in the box set? Let us know in the comments.
