BLACKPINK Breaks 5 Guinness World Records and make history yet again. On June 30, Guinness World Records announced that the group has grabbed five titles with their latest music video.
Originally Released on June 26, the music video for “How You Like That” was named by Guinness World Records as “The Most Watched YouTube Video in 24 Hours” as well as “The Most Watched YouTube Music Video in 24 Hours” and “The Most Viewed YouTube Music Video in 24 Hours by the K-pop Group.” BLACKPINK’s 24-hour view count for “How You Like That” was reported by YouTube to be 86.3 million.
“How You Like That” also won the titles “Most Viewers for YouTube Video Premiere” and “Most Viewers for YouTube Music Video Premiere.” YouTube said “How You Like That” set the record at its height of 1.66 million simultaneous viewers. BTS ‘”ON” previously held an official record for the most viewed YouTube Premiere (1.54 million concurrent viewers).
Other previous record holders for most viewed YouTube video in 24 hours include Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next” (55.4 million views), Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” (43.2 million views) and BLACKPINK themselves, who held the titles for just one week with their last release “Kill This Love” (56.7 million views). ‘How You Like That’ is the group’s first single since ‘Kill This Love’, with members Jisoo, Jennie, Rose and Lisa gearing up towards the release of their first Korean-language album. BLACKPINK formed in 2016 and recently featured on Lady Gaga’s track “Sour Candy”, which charted in both the United States and United Kingdom. They are already the most followed female group on Spotify as well as the music group with the most subscribers on YouTube, surpassing One Direction. (Guinness)
