Things are about to be Most Excellent again! 27 years after the last time we saw Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter, the pair is now teaming back up for Bill & Ted Face The Music. The third installment of the franchise.

Bill & Ted Face The Music is currently listed as being in pre-production. Bill and Ted Face The Music has been written by the franchise’s creators Chris Matheson (Imagine That) and Ed Solomon (Men in Black), with Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest) confirmed to direct. Scott Kroopf (Limitless) will produce together with Alex Lebovici and Steve Ponce of Hammerstone Studios, with Steven Soderbergh serving as an executive producer alongside Scott Fischer, John Ryan Jr., and John Santilli.

Here are what fans are saying on Twitter:

MGM owns the rights to the film and will release it in the U.S. under its Orion Pictures banner. Bloom is handling international sales, which commenced in Cannes. “We couldn’t be more excited to get the whole band back together again,” said Reeves and Winter. “Chris and Ed wrote an amazing script, and with Dean at the helm we’ve got a dream team!” Bloom’s Alex Walton said: “Fans of Bill and Ted have been waiting for Reeves and Winter to reunite since their last Bogus Journey in 1991. This is excellent!”

This film will be like Back to the Future meets The Blues Brothers. If you do not understand that reference you better google it. At Geek Impulse we believe that Bill Murray obviously needs to be cast as the brother or son of George Carlin’s character, Rufus. I am looking forward to ‘Bill & Ted Face The Music’. I always imagined though that the third one would be called ‘Bill & Ted’s Triumphant Escapade,’ because it would fit with ‘Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure’ and ‘Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey’ titles. Just sayin.
