As the Title of this article suggests there really is an AI Psychopath. Scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), created an algorithm called Norman. The way their algorithm is explain is like this:

Where a regular algorithm sees a group of birds sitting atop a tree, Norman sees someone being electrocuted. An image that a non-psychopathic algorithm sees as a group of people standing by a window is viewed as someone jumping from the window by Norman.

Armed with this twisted mass of digital memories, Norman was then asked to caption a series of Rorschach inkblots. The results are predictably creepy. Let’s have a look at a couple, shall we? (Geek.com)

Norman seems to have a very negative view of the world. It would seem that he always sticks to the horrific narrative of the world. Every Inkblot test he goes through seems vivid and straight from a horror film.

Scientist at MIT stated “Norman suffered from extended exposure to the darkest corners of Reddit.” The question then becomes is there any hope for him. This however lets us know that an AI has a view of the world based on the data it collects or is set to collect. Would an AI that collects both good and bad be balanced or wold it choose to eradicate the earth? Let us discuss in the comments below.
