Katsuhiro Otomo Will be at Anime Expo 2019
Anime Expo 2019 is shaping up to be one of the biggest yet. They are out doing themselves from the previous year, by bringing major guests from all over the world. AX 2019 is officially adding Akira creator and legendary director/manga artist Katsuhiro Otomo. This is just another guest added to the already elite guest list like no other in the industry.
Otomo is known for manga such as Domu and anime projects ranging from a portion of the Robot Carnival anthology to Steamboy and much more. He was Awarded the Nihon SF Taisho with “DOMU” in 1983. Otomo directed “AKIRA” in 1988 based on his own Manga works which shocked people worldwide by its detailed drawing work and dynamic visual delivery. During his career, he has received many awards including the “Medal with Purple Ribbon” from the Japanese Government in 2013. The is an award given to “individuals who have contributed to academic and artistic developments, improvements and accomplishments.”
Katsuhiro will, in addition to Granblue Fantasy game producer Yuito Kimura and director Tetsuya Fukuhara will appear at a panel on July 6 at 6:30 p.m. Illustrators PICPICGRAM (Ninja Girl and the Mysterious Army of Urban Legend Monsters!) and
