Italian company Ducati in Milan, Italy, confirms that hard at work on a Ducati Electric Vehicle (Motorcycle). This is not the first time that the company has mentioned that they wanted to create electric motorcycles. The commitment is much more real now. The companies leader Claudio Domenicali told guests attending a Spanish event that the “future is electric” and the company was “not far from starting production” on its own two-wheeled EV.

Domenicali did not reveal intimate details about what the bike’s features would be. It would be safe to assume from there long history of innovation that a Ducati Electric Vehicle would not a be a cruiser for those leisurely weekends away from the office.

There are several plans from other motorcycle brands that are offering electric motorcycles. Harley-Davidson has even joined in on the hype. No telling if it will be a stand-alone model or a series of bikes to come in the future. With that being said, most likely we won’t get a Ducati EV until 2021.
